Allergy Information:
Skin allergies are a frequent reason for customers using the K9 TOP COAT Lycra bodysuit. Allergies can be a frustrating, time consuming, and expensive problem. The constant licking, biting, chewing and anxiety can take a toll on the dog and the rest of the family. We have had many customers who have tried numerous medications (including Benedryl, and steroids), multiple diets and other homeopathic methods to control their dog’s allergies. Most have tried T-shirts to cover the dog. However, the T-shirts usually to not cover as much area as needed (thus transferring the itching to a new area), only last for a few days, are generally not comfortable, and many times are ineffective.
The K9 TOP COAT has proven to be a great way to beat allergies (please refer to the testimonials below). Although we cannot guarantee 100% effectiveness, we have found that the garment significantly reduces allergy symptoms in the vast majority of cases. We do not have any objective data to tell us why the garment works, but the results of our customers speak for themselves. Most Veterinarians have found that covering the dogs body will reduce irritation (hence the recommendation for T-shirts). We have not found a proven theory as to why this is true- but most vets in general agree with the premise.

How to Measure Your Dog:
Top Line - Measure from the middle of the shoulder blades along the back bone to the dock of the tail.
Girth -- Measure the distance around the girth from just behind the front legs.
Front Legs - Measure the length of the front legs from the elbow to the dew claw.
Note: Lycra Bodysuits are not specifically made for short legged breeds such as Basset Hounds and Dachshunds. However, we have had numerous customers purchase and modify the garments to fit their dogs.
This garment has been specifically designed to be closefitting, comfortable, safe and effective.
Unisex so that male and female dogs can go to the bathroom without having to adjust the garment. Females have absolutely no problems. Males, due to their different anatomy, can have the abdominal zipper slightly undone to prevent them from urinating into the garment.
The zipper is a non-travel/locking zipper.
Easy to put on. Simply unzip the leg and abdominal zippers. Slip the garment over the dogs head (like a turtleneck), slide the front legs through the sleeves. Then slide the back legs through the sleeves and zip all 4 legs. Then zip the abdominal zipper. Pull the ‘zipper flap material’ across the zipper to prevent catching any hair. You are done!
The seams are sewn using a special technique and machine that creates “flat seams”. This reduces any friction or irritation from the seam, and actually creates a stronger more durable seam. Thus we can guarantee our garments seams for life.
The Lycra Bodysuit’s lightweight, breathable material is ideal for the pool or stream.
The Lycra Bodysuit works great in the snow-especially for dogs with longer coats. It will reduce your dog’s exposure to ice and helps to prevent those terrible snowballs from forming on your dog’s legs and abdomen.
Wash the garment in cold water, gentle cycle, with minimal detergent-or Woolite. Line dry. You can place the garment in the dryer on low head also.
The Lycra Bodysuit provides an additional barrier against these insects and can prevent irritating/itchy bites that drive dogs and people crazy.
