The K9 Top Coat Lycra Bodysuit is a one-of-a-kind lightweight, breathable full coverage suit. It is ideal for snow protection, controlling shedding, dander, dirt, stickers, coat damage, ticks and biting insects. This highly versatile suit also helps protect injuries, rashes, and surgical sites - as well as, provides outstanding relief for dogs suffering from skin related allergies and cancer. Its high quality 4-way stretch material moves with your dog and is easy to put on and take off. The unique design stays in place even on very active dogs.

  • Reduces dog hair, dander, dirt, stickers, fleas and ticks in the home.

  • Reduces burrs, stickers and debris in fur.

  • Drastically reduces snow from adhering to long haired breeds.

  • Keeps dogs clean and reduces coat damage.

  • Reduces the likelihood of ticks latching on.

  • Helps keep dogs from bothering/irritating wounds, stitches, rashes and medicated areas located on body and legs.

  • Effective in reduction of allergy symptoms such as scratching, licking and chewing.

New Style! We have modified the design to use ultra soft velcro at the neck, and created extra long sleeves that can be cut to create a perfect fit for your dog. This new style is not available in all sizes and colors, and you may receive last year's version (without extra-long legs and with zippers at the bottom). Should you have a preference, please indicate that with your order comments and we will do our best to accomodate.

 Adjustable Top Strap:

Use the exclusive top line strap to shorten the length of your garment to perfectly fit your dog.  The Top Strap Adjustment is a standard feature of all bodysuits; Lycra, Arctic Fleece, Waterproof & Cascade.

How to measure your dog:

We encourage you to use our measurement guide to be sure that you select the right size for your dog.

 1. Top Line - Measure from the middle of the shoulder blades along the back bone to the dock of the tail.

2. Girth -- Measure the distance around the girth from just behind the front legs.

Compare your dog's measurements with those recommended by the sizing chart to determine the most appropriate size for your dog. If your dog's measurements fit into more than one category, use the Top Line measurement alone to select the best size.

Frequently asked questions:

Can I use the Lycra Bodysuit in the snow?

Yes! The Lycra Bodysuit works great in the snow-especially for dogs with longer coats. It will reduce your dogs exposure to ice and helps to prevent those terrible snowballs from forming on your dogs legs and abdomen. The Lycra Bodysuit can dramatically reduce the amount of time you spend cleaning your dog after a romp in the snow.

Can my dog go to the bathroom wearing the Lycra Bodysuit?

Yes. The garment is unisex so that male and female dogs can go to the bathroom without having to adjust the garment. Females have absolutely no problems. Males, due to their different anatomy, can have the abdominal zipper slightly undone to prevent them from urinating into the garment. The zipper is a non-travel/locking zipper.

Can my dog wear a Lycra Bodysuit in the water?

Yes. The Lycra Bodysuits lightweight, breathable material is ideal for the pool or stream

How do I clean the Lycra Bodysuit?

Wash the garment in cold water, gentle cycle, with minimal detergent-or Woolite. Line dry. You can place the garment in the dryer on low heat also.

Will the Lycra Bodysuit cause overheating?

No-but each owner must use common sense. A dog releases heat primarily though panting and though the feet and ears. The Lycra Bodysuit will not keep a dog from cooling itself through these channels.
We have consulted with numerous veterinarians and have had a large teaching veterinary hospital conduct a heat stress study for us. We have found no overheating with this garment. Heatstroke can be a concern anytime temperatures rise-with or without a K9 TOP COAT. SO always remember to have plenty of fresh water and shade available.

"Need to Modify your K9 TOP COAT?"

Modifications of the K9 TOP COAT are easy. Our special design and superior materials and construction allow a wide variation of modification options. You simply need a pair of very sharp scissors, and your specific tailoring needs.

First, you can cut the garment without causing the material to roll or run. If you desire to finish the cut ends, you can-or you can leave them as is. The choice is yours.

You can make a short sleeve version easily by just trimming the sleeves to the desired length. We intentionally did not make a "short sleeve" version because there is such a wide definition of what 'short sleeve' is on a dog. So, make the sleeves any length you need.

The short sleeved version is great for older dogs that do not have as much flexibility, or for Veterinarians with dogs that have had only abdominal surgery and do not need full coverage. Also, the short sleeve version is perfect for show dogs that need to keep their coat flat and clean.

You can also modify the K9 TOP COAT for a "Front version" only. This is ideal for dogs with shoulder or thoracic surgery, or for dogs with wounds/hot spots on the front of the body or legs.
